D e las personas .		Of persons.
Artículo 1.^o		Article 1.
La capacidad de las personas se rige por la s ley es de su domicilio.		The capacity of persons is governed by the laws of their domicile.
Artículo 2.^o		Article 2.
El cambio de domicilio no altera la capacidad adquir i da por emancipacion, mayor edad ó habilitación judicial .		Change of domicile does not alter capacity that has been acquired by emancipation, age of majority or judicial actualization.

D e l matrimonio.		Of marriage.
Artículo 11.		Article 11.
La capacidad de las personas par contraer matrimonio, la forma del acto y la existencia y validez del mismo, se rigen por la ley del lugar en que se celebra.		The capacity of persons to contract marriage, the form of the act by which it is contracted, the fact that the act did take place, and its validity are governed by the law of the place in which it was performed.
Sin embargo, los Estados signatarios no quedan obligados á reconocer el matrimonio que se hubiere celebrado en uno de ellos cuando se halle afectado de alguno de los siguientes impedimentos:		However, the signatory States are not bound to recognize a marriage performed in one of them when any of the following impediments affects the marriage:
a ) F alta de edad de alguno de los contrayentes, requiriéndose como mí n i m um catorce años cumplidos en el varón y doce en la mujer;		(a) Lack of age of either of the contracting parties, the minimum age required for the male being fourteen years, and for the female, twelve years;
b ) Parentesco en línea recta por consaguinidad ó afinidad, sea legítimo ó ilegítimo ;		(b) Kinship in a direct line by consanguinity or by affinity, whether legitimate or illegitimate;
c ) Parentesco entre hermanos legítimos ó ilegítimos ;		(c) Kinship between legitimate or illegitimate siblings;
d ) Haber dado muerte á uno de los cónyuges, ya sea como autor principal ó como cómplice, para casarse con el cónyuge superstite		(d) Having put to death one member of a married couple, either as a principal actor or as an accomplice, in order to get married to the surviving spouse;
e ) El matrimonio anterio no disuelto legalmente .		(e) An earlier marriage not legally dissolved.
Artículo 12.		Article 12.
Los derechos y deberes de los cónyuges en todo cuanto afecta sus relaciones personales, se rigen por las leyes del domicilio matrimonial. Si los cónyuges mudáren de domicilio, dichos derechos y deberes se regirán por las leyes del nuevo domicilio.		The rights and duties of spouses in all that affects their personal relations are governed by the laws of the matrimonial domicile. If spouses should change their domicile, such rights and duties will be governed by the laws of their new domicile.
Artículo 13.		Article 13.
La ley del domicilio matrimonial rige:		The law of the matrimonial domicile governs:
a ) L a separación conyugal;		(a) Conjugal separation;
b ) L a disolubilidad del matrimonio , siempre que la causa alegeda sea admitida por la ley del lugar en el cual se celebr ó .		(b) Dissolubility of the marriage, whenever the alleged cause is admitted by the law of the place in which the marriage was celebrated.

Artículo 24.		Article 24.
Las medidas urgentes que conciernen á las relaciones personales entre cónyuges … se rigen por la ley del lugar en que residan los cónyuge s… .		Urgent measures which concern the personal relations between spouses … are governed by the law of the place in which the spouses … reside.

Artículo 1.^o		Article 1.
Las leyes de los Estados Contratantes, serán aplicadas en los casos ocurrentes, ya sean nacionales ó extranjeras las personas interesadas en la relación jurídica de que se trate .		The laws of the Contracting Status shall apply in such cases as may arise, whether the persons interested in the particular juridical situation involved are nationals or aliens.

Artículo 4.^o		Article 4.
Las leyes de los demás Estados , jamás serán aplicadas contra las instituciones políticas las leyes de ó rden público ó las buenas costumbres del lugar del proceso.		The laws of other States shall never be applied adversely to the political institutions, laws of public order, or good moral habits of the place where the trial is held.

Artículo 7.^o		Article 7.
Las disposiciones contenidas en los artículos p ue preceden se considerarán parte integrante de los Tratados de su referencia, y su duración será la de los mismos.		The provisions laid down in the foregoing articles shall be regarded as an integral part of the treaties in question, and they shall remain in force during the same period of time.
